Re: Shock collar deer breaking

I tone train my dogs when they are young 3 t0 4 months old with a check cord and treats. I do not shock them until they know what good game is what they are to hunt. Some dogs take very little heat to bend them. I have bred these dogs for years most are soft they will not take much abuse either with ...

Re: Rigging bobcats

I believe most dogs need to be pulled out of a pack at 8 to 10 years old. they can catch cats on their own but will hurt your success in the pack. a finished dog is ...

Re: Bobcat dog semen?

As far as telling how old a bobcat track is that a dog can trail is totally depends on the weather conditions. I have seen dogs that could trail and open on a 10 to 24 hour old track and not on a 15 minute old track. How do I know that the track was 24 in snow conditions I have trailed bobcats twice ...

Re: He do you go about picking a pup?

There are a lot of variables. I do not believe the lead dogs or fasted dog is the best he can be the worst. when I talk I am talking bobcat dogs they are the hardest to catch consistently in my opinion. scent conditions are a big factor different conditions will cause different reaction from the ...

Re: He do you go about picking a pup?

All dogs need to be hunted hard and handled right to turn out. Everybody has there own expectation as to what that is and that's OK that dog that they love is perfect for them. My expectation are pretty high I have had some great bobcat dogs which all dogs for me have a high yard stick to compare to ...

Re: He do you go about picking a pup?

If you have had the chance to read dave bobcat book i think he did a great job of describing different levels of hunters. Look at the professional basket ball players do you think he would get the job if he could not make a basket. we all walk to a different pace and that's ok. I have sent more time ...
