Re: New Dale Lee book out.
Yes it is. I got to look at it here awhile back before it went to the printers and it is absolutely awsome. Every hound man needs one for his collection.

New Dale Lee book out.
There's a new book out on Dale Lee. Called Cold Trail. It looks like it will be a good one. I got my order in yesterday from rimrockpublishing.com. Lots of really great pictures from the past. I can't wait to get it.

Any dog men from North Dakota on here?
Im going to be drilling some wells in North Dakota soon. Will be working either a 14 and 14 or 21 and 21 day rotation. Just wondering how many dog hunters where up there and what they hunt.

Re: Any christian houndsmen out there.
Count me in. I thank the Lord daily for all the many blessings he has bestowed upon me and my family. Mainly for my health that allows me to be able to hunt the way I do and enjoy the great outdoors he provided for us. I don't see how anyone could go to the mountains, look around and say ''there is ...

Re: coon hunting without tracking collar
Believe me a tracking collar will pay for itself in the long run. As high as gas is you don't want to be driving around looking for dogs. You will always know where your dog is at and what he is doing with a Garmin. I wouldn't turn a good dog loose without one for dang sure.

Re: Question???
I never turn loose the catch dog until me and him both are looking at the hog. As soon as he catches an ear I catch the back legs and throw him. Then my buddy uses a breaking stick to open the catch dogs mouth and ties him to a tree. Then the hog is tied up. Usually by then the mountain curs have an...

Re: Airedale's
The only experience I have with Airdales is when I was a kid. My Dad had July and Walker wolfhounds. We had a friend with a big male he ran with his pack. Dad crossed a couple of bitches on him and they were coyote catching machines. Crosses on these half breeds never worked. Then we started crossin...

Re: Lady hoggers show??
I agree its a joke and so is that stupid Black Gold show that comes on about the drilling industry. I can't watch it. I have been in the drilling business for 33 years and have never seen idiots like that in my life. The hog hunting shows are even worse.

Re: Coon trapping with live traps
Put the bait in a shallow hole in the ground under the pan. Stake the trap down at all four corners with re-bar so the coon can't move the trap off the bait. You will catch every coon that goes in it.

Re: how do you know?
The best thing to do is put a shock collar on him and go deer hunting. Spot some deer in the open, pull over, unload the dog and see if he wants to run them. If he does stop him with the collar. It should not take more than a few times.
