Re: Dog box dimensions
Just about done with my box, I'll post pictures if I can figure out how, but I was wondering if I should paint the inside. I painted the floor and will put several coats on the outside but wasn't sure about the inside. Thanks.

Re: Dog box dimensions
I'm building the box out of wood. I'm using 2x2s for the frame and 1/2'' plywood on the floors and side. I was thinking about using 3/4" plywood for the top, so that I can rig dogs. I'm also putting a 1' x 4' storage compartment. The biggest downside I can see so far is the weight. It's going to be ...

Re: Dog box dimensions
My box is going to have two separate compartments. Is 24" x 48" big enough for each compartment?

Just started my box.... It'll be interesting since I don't know exactly what I want in a box yet. Hopefully it will turn out.

Re: Dog box dimensions
What is a good size for head holes? I've seen some boxes with holes big enough dogs can put there heads through and others where maybe only a nose can poke out.

Re: Dog Food for your Blueticks
I've been feeding Diamond Extreme Athlete. So far so good. They eat it good, keeps the weight on and their energy level is really high. If anyone else has had good or bad experiences with this please let me know.

Dog box dimensions
I've got two running walker pups. I'm not sure exactly how big they're going to get so I'd been holding off on building a box. The weather is starting to change though and I need to get started. Just wondering about what the dimensions should be. I'm planning to have a divder down the middle and it ...

Re: training question
Thanks for all of the replies and info. Don't want to push it but I'm anxious to start working them also. Our pursuit season for coons starts September 1st and open season starts, November 15. Will they be ready to start hunting at six or seven months or am I better off waiting until later in the ...

training question
Just got a couple of Walker pups. They are about nine weeks old. Just wondering if that is too early to start having them follow a drag. I'm also curious as to what a good brand of coon scent is. I've seen several advertised but don't know what to buy. If anybody has any suggestions I'd appreciate ...

Re: Newbie from SW Oregon
We are down in the Grants Pass/Rogue River area. I have been hunting deer and elk since I was a kid and now take my boys hunting. They both love it. I've just always thought that anything I can do with a dog is more fun than without one. I'm not sure where Powers is but let me know if you're ever in ...

Newbie from SW Oregon
I am trying to get started with hounds and would appreciate any input. This past weekend I took my two boys to a youth coon hunt and with borrowed hounds my youngest son took first place. It was great to get my boys out chasing dogs and my hope is that I can find a way to continue running hounds ...
