Off Range Oryx Hunt

I am considering putting in for an oryx tag in New Mexico for a July hunt. The hunt will be for my 16 year old and although it's a tough month to hunt, we'd have plenty of time. As an out of state hunter the tag is expensive and I want to make certain if we were successful with a draw, there would be some game. For those with any insight, I'd appreciate some information and advice ahead of the draw in middle March.
