I guess what I don't understand is that it reads if I use the Garmin TT15 collar paired with the alpha 100 I can control the Virb camera through the collar????? Also you can purchase a separate handheld remote devoted to the virb.

Budd,

Yes you can turn on and off the VIrb with a TT15 at distances. You'll need to be able to track the TT15 but if you are tracking the TT15 you can turn on or off the VIrb.

The Virb and the TT15 need to be around 30 feet from each other. But they can be miles away from the Alpha 100.

You will not see video on the alpha, you can only turn on or off the camera.

I think this is your question.

Buddy does the virb have a mount to the collar ? Or do you need to DIY.

Thomas,

Mostly DIY, We have some vests that we are trying that hold the camera on the side of the dog. It's hard to get a camera stable enough for footage when the dog runs,

I was looking at one for videoing hare in runways when the hounds are running them, have seen video's of the cameras on dogs and they just look to herky jerky for me.
Buddy have you tried the remote for the virb? Everything I seen is for 30 feet but if that's it I'll by a tt15 and just hang it in a tree close to the virb.

It's 30 feet if you pair the virb to the ALpha 100, But if you do it with the TT15 then the Camera needs to be 30 feet from the TT15, and you can turn it off an on through the TT15 with the Alpha Handheld.
