Great hogs Fitz! That boar was a hoss. Do you have any pics of your dogs you wouldn't mind posting? Either way great hogs.

The brindle is the son of the big black and brindle. The Queensland and the leopard are my pups I'm training. They're the same one from the video.

A big hog I killed a couple years ago. I put his head under a old dog box and forgot about it. Then I moved and found it. So I put it in with my beetles. The colony was all but wiped out by red ants and they're slowly building back up.

Nice pics of the dogs Fitz they look good. Had a heeler when I was growing up, got her from my buddy who's family were cow breeders. If you don't mind me asking I noticed you said you wanted to breed some heeler or mcnabb into your hunting dogs, what do they add that a Cat, Cur, or Hound does not have? Just curious and tyring to pick up some new knowledge. Beautiful country in that vid, are you up north?

It adds more brains into the equation. Cats are a little dense and get tunnel vision. They add enough brains to think in situations where they would get hurt or figuring out tracks faster.

I have a border collie X pit mutt my daughter brought home. I have to admit he's a interesting animal. Have hunted heeler X hounds and they all have plenty of smarts. Good luck

Dermestid beetles. Finally starting to recover from the red ant invasion of 2015. Almost wiped them out...
They've almost doubled in numbers since I took this pic last month. I'm hoping to be able to start talking clients by next year. When the numbers are where they're supposed to be I can clean a skull in 3-5 days.

Well I got into a nasty boar over the weekend. I'm down to one finished dog and two inexperienced dogs. My buddy who was with me had three inexperienced dogs. My seasoned dog cut a track and caught him. Barked once when he was thrown. We tried to find him but couldn't. We saw the boar crest the ridge 1/2 mile away and the dog came back slightly leaking. My next purchase will be a Garmin Astro now that it's legal here in California.

Here's the boar.
