For those of you that carry a saddle saw, what length do you prefer to carry?

We like the Fanno #24 it has a 22.5 " curved blade and is self cleaning. You can get them from Outfitters Supply in Colombia Falls, Montana.

I would spend the extra money and get the good leather scabbard for it rather than the synthetic one. I guess the synthetic works ok, but good leather hanging on a horse looks and feels a whole lot better.

This saw will make short work of clearing trails , and it is very handy.

Good luck!

Thanks Mike. I've been wanting a Fanno saw. I just wasn't sure what length. I agree with you on leather. I know other things work, but I like my saddle to look nice. I'm making some conchos for it right now. I will have to put some pictures on here when I'm done. I'm pretty excited about them

I just picked up this saw. Haven't used it yet, but I'm impressed with both the saw and leather and leather quality of the scabbard. Purchased from Gundersen Sunrise Products.

I’ve got a 24” Fanno saw and like it. But, id also like to try one of those Silky Katanaboy folding saws. The lengths are in centimeters, so there’s a 500,750, 1,000 etc. but since they fold, it gives you some reach. The YouTube videos on this saw show it flying through some pretty good sized timber. There’s an outfit in MT that was making scabbards for them.
