Can a horse or mule be sound again after Lyme disease. My mule has been battling Lyme disease vet says she is free of the disease now but will she ever be back to were she was before.

Speaking as a human who has had it, in my own experience: No. I have never gotten back to where I was before I had it. Not even close.

I think dogs get through it without ever being diagnosed, and live on at a level of usefulness. I don't know of a horse or mule that had it. But I think it will depend how much of a mules' potential of strength and endurance you tap into. If you only require 50% of that, my guess is you will be fine. If you require 100% of that my guess is you will remain disappointed.

Hopefully a vet or some one who has had it in a mule will respond. I probably shouldn't have, since that is not me.

I can't say absolutely as they were never tested and it could be something else but I've seen mules and horses with ticks get real sick and it takes a year+ before they seem to come around
