Dan Casey had a once-in-a-lifetime, face-to-face meeting with a mountain lion that has gained him some internet fame.

Casey, who lives in Pennington County, recently posted a video of a mountain lion caught in a trap. He says his sons' -- ages 9 and 10 -- set the live trap for foxes to learn how to trap.

Well, when he went to check the trap, instead of finding a fox, there was a mountain lion.

Casey says the live trap was set about 300 yards from his front door.

He posted the video of the trapped lion and its release - just one week ago.

Since then, the video has been shared more than 3,500 times. It has been viewed more than 238,000 times.

Casey says he is amazed at how much attention the video is getting. He says he loves these animals as well as living in the Black Hills so he was happy to share this unique experience.
