Does anyone run coyotes with hounds in NC? Would love to give it a try sometime.

The boys on the eastern side of the state have it figured out, but they usually are after deer, fox and bobcat as well as coyote. A few will run just coyote, fox, bobcat this time of year. On the west side, they are too caught up in the belief that it will ruin a bear dog to even have a dog that will run a coyote on the place, even though a lot of bear races start or change into a coyote race at some point.

I am in the Statesville area and I have been wanting to try running coyotes with dogs as well. Rex Bowers in Mocksville crossed some July hounds and Leopard Curs and use to run them on coyotes years ago.
