Jack,
I have seen very good hounds of all kinds and crosses. The subject was about glass eyes and all I am saying is that it came from something other than the hound.
I do know the hound in your picture is an easy keeper, fast learner and if you like, not much more matters. Notice the color of the pack in the following link. Some of these packs have been around since the 1600 and have kept detailed records in the 1700.

"Please point me in the direction of the books or publications"

1.History of the July Wolf Hound> Rex Bowers
2. Fifty years with Fox and Hounds>George Garret
3.The American Foxhound > Thurston J. Rostad
4.History of the Walker Hound> Bob lee Maddux
5.Hunters Horn and Red Ranger Magazines from 1971-77 (as stated by Rex Bowers)

The April 1978 Hunter Horn Page 71/72 will help tie together that these strains, Walker Maupin Goodman and July had dogs in common and while today's Goodman and July's show more of these traits.

There is 500- 600 pages that should give some perspective, but all that matters is who has the lead :D

Yes, you did point me in the direction to prove my point. Something like the cur that you have in the picture is what was bred into hounds. A cur is not a hound.

You would be better serve to listen.

"I am asking, how do you know that the fox hounds from England had glass colored eyes? Or, Mr. Walkers hounds or the July hounds at one time had or come from colored eyes hounds?
Please point me in the direction of the books or publications."

And just for the record labs that have YELLOW eye are what I would be concerned about having mixed blood.

I hope its not to personal, but how long have you been running hounds, and how many have you raised? These things I pointed out are common knowledge to most youngsters who grow up around hounds, not putting you down, just sayin.

I have a 2.5 female TWCH with a single blue eye, I was wondering if she was a fullblood and after reading these comments I do believe she may be from some of the lineage mentioned, but do not the owners nor was I given papers :( she is the first I've seen out of all the hounds I've owned.
