New mounts

Postby FullCryHounds » Tue Nov 27, 2018 5:00 pm

Our lion season just opened here in CO. Just finished up the last lion from this past March. Bear is from our camp up in AK above the Arctic circle. Good luck this season everyone.

The bear’s face is amazing. In a different context, I would have thought he is alive in that shot.

After seeing your gates and this I know you are an artist for sure.

Yes, I use beetles. It seems euro mounts have become very popular. 5 years ago, I had one colony that could handle everything. This year, we set up five colonies.

Here's some interesting stuff I learned a few years ago. I cleaned up a front foot of a lion and put it all back together. I then noticed something I never knew. Take a look at the metatarsal bones just behind the claws. There's an area there that allows room for the claws to be retracted into.

Man that's cool...going to have to try it. I do Europeans as well, I don't advertise at all and I've done more this year than I ever have.
