hey guys check out the regs for next year the state of wa was busted into 9 cmus and not sure if its by permit or like montana has it yet but the state is bring back hound hunting for cats in wa

i am not quite sure what you mean but i am sure they will not open it up to a open quota hunt like MT. the tags have accually decreased not increased on the eastern WA cat hunts and the public saftey removal permits on the west side.

ok see what your saying but why did they breack the state into 9 couger mangment units with a quota for females

Brookem- not only is there a quota system on females, but if the quota on females is reached by the boot hunters/deer and elk hunter, or by the fish and game having someone come in and kill a female cat for one reason or another this goes against the quota. This year the one area was closed before any houndsmen got to hunt it- the same went for last year. The planning of the system needs to be looked at a little closer and some changes made. I don't think at this point any houndsmen are involved in the system design.
