To set up a club you have to have I believe 10 members. Where are you located? We used to have one in Cowlitz County , we were at one time strong with over 100 members. There is an active club also Vancouver. If you are around Cowlitz County we can probably get our club re-instated.

If you think you can come up with a few more members we could probably re-start our club or you could join the Washington State Coon Hound Ass. they are a HOUND COUNCIL club in Vancouver.

A lot of people just missed out on a trial this last weekend in Okanogan area. Guess there was like 32 dogs or something, there was a coon and a bear drag going on, had to swim across a lake or something and do some other stuff sounded like a good time. I was hunting bear or I would of gone to at least check it out

Just missed on thies last weekend in Matlock as well. It was put on by the Washington State Coonhound Association. We hold our summer events in Matlock, next one Aug 8th and 9th. Possibly one in July if I can get it passed. Our fall events we hold just outside on Rayonier near Yelm,WA In the fall we have our grade as well as UKC/AKC nitehunts. If your interested in becoming a member drop me a line. My name is Dustin Milbourn Secretary of WSCA. Our event in Matlock drew alot of people. 30-50 with near 40-50 dogs. We are the state wide club, we have members from WA and Oregon. Like it said above we are part of the hound council in WA State. We have our meetings monthy on-line as most of our members are to spread out to meet, unless we gather up at our events.
So if yer interested let me know, i'll send you an invite to our next online meeting. Besides us (WSCA) their is another club local to Western WA, The Olympic Houndsmen Assoc. This club is based out of Shelton.WA
Hope to hear from some more folks

We are all from the Reservation and were out bear hunting or we would of probably been there, at least 3 more of us. My buddy that was hunting with us on Sat. went there on Sunday but didnt bring his dog(s), he has only been hunted lightly on coons but probably could of done alright on the bear. I think there were some other guys from around our part there, would definetly like to check the next one out though, should be fun.

The event did go good Libby... I think Nikki may have taken pictures, but we forgot the camera. We need to have a meeting soon, however my computer crapped out and I can only use mine at work or at a buddies place on occasion..
About the NiteHunts in Fall.. This year we'll be having UKC NiteHunts as well as AKC (new this year) I will post the dates once we know for sure. They'll be around Sept, Oct, and then not again till after the late buck season. More likely Dec,then Jan. Ill most when we have more concrete dates.
Hopoefully again this year we'll be having more Grade Dog Nitehunts for non-papered dogs. For a cash prize. Again dates to come soon.
Anyone interested in joining Washington State Coonhound Association which holds UKC/AKC authorized events can send me an email at
milbourn1911@hotmail.com or call Dustin Milbourn @ 360-470-4980
