You still havent found a place to run coons yet, How is that new pup of yours coming along. It has to be around 5 or 6 months old by now.

Man I am no help when it comes to places out in that area, if I could i would bring yuo up to the rez to run the coon. I have a creek and swamp in my back yard with lakes all around me. Bucknaze says that we have coon all over here but I have never hunted for them.

We got on only three chases this year, never made it up to ferrycounty side. Ran one and lost the dogs for a week. Ran another one that lasted all night and we couldnt ever catch up to the dogs. The next week a 150 lb tom was caught in that area just off the rez line by our mentor and his dogs. And the last snow we ran three of them that was bunched, and non where tiny kittens. They all had pretty good sized tracks, well our dogs that will be one in april almost caught them till they hit the creek bottom and ran out of snow. We wanted to get up too the north half but it never happened, we just didnt get the snow we was wanting. I was told twenty cats was taken on the rez and i think most of those where taken earlier in the season. We didnt do to bad for having one 4 yr old and three pups, just wish we had more snow.

I think there was upwards of 25 cats if I remember right. I counted the other day but dont plan on doing it again, haha. If you included bobcats that number would jump up a bit! haha. There are some lions that I know didnt get caught but I dont think we'll get the snow to chase em unless we get lucky and find a track in the mud. Bring on the bears! I got 2 young dogs that are going to be outrunning my older ones by the end of the season I think, or sticking right with em! Get after then coons inchtown, I guarentee it will make better dogs! WAY BETTER!

I heard the 20 a week or so ago, it was what the biologist got for samples. So i am sure you have better records being the fish and game guy you are. And was also told between okanogan and ferry county only 11 lions were taken almost all males too. My auntie seen one at the line at Baranaby creek that was a big one, that was a couple of days ago when it was raining and no snow down at the river.
