Wildlife Commission Meeting

I just returned home from the Wildlife Commission Meeting. I just wanted to thank Dan, Buddy, and Chet for speaking on behalf of the hound community. Each of these guys went before the commission and did a very good job representing us. I believe, for the most part, the commissioners were glad to hear what the guys had to say. I will leave it to one of them to fill you in on any details.
I think we should all thank the guys that are willing to get into the trenches and fight to help keep these hunts going.
Thanks for your time,
George Streepy

Thanks, George it was nice meeting you, There was a gentle man and his son there as well... (pike) if someone has his contact information I was hoping to talk to him a bit more since I didn't get the chance to talk with him and thank him up there. I don't believe he came from this site.
Thank you and everyone that showed up.
Here is the summary of the rule changes proposed, It wasn't an important meeting except for the fact that we are heading into the last year and want to make sure the commission knows that this program is successful.
Proposed changes. (For times sake I'm only mentioning the noticable changes)
#1 remove the boot hunt draw in the Dog hunt zones. If people want to Boot hunt in Dec, they can put in for a draw "Dog" tag and just Not use the dogs.
#2 because of #1 this allow the hunt to begin again on Dec1st
# 3Increase the availible tags from 2X the total Qouta, to 3X the qouta.
#4 Increase the Klickatat Qouta's by approximately?? 2x for Population reduction.
#5 Changes in terminology in how to define handlers.
I beleive the commisioners appeared grateful that we showed up to give input and our considerations.
Next month they will actually

LOL well i think there were a couple who didn't think us being there was a good thing lol but most seemed very open minded and really seemed real interested in the program so that at least I believe was a good thing for the us as Houndsmen.

Good job.
"It wasn't an important meeting except for the fact that we are heading into the last year and want to make sure the commission knows that this program is successful."
It is ALWAYS important to stay on politician's radar, and much better when in a good light.
