It's not a commisioned hunt. It is set up to allow the land owner to hire who he feels is worth his time and money. The stipulation in I-655 allows the land owner the right to hire his own employee. This is not a sport hunt, if you want to fight over something we need to all gather and raise a tremendence amount of money and repeal I-655. The four out of state guys that hunted on the 144 bear permits last year, I don't believe is something that we need to be fighting over.

I can understand your frustraition, but going after your fellow hunters will not get you any where. This hound ban bull realy sucks but I don't blame anyone for doing whatever they can to get their dogs in the woods.

i have hunted for the timber companys for many years and have a verry good relation ship with the forestor i work with we run through a average of 30 permits a year the issue with this year and in the past in one getting your foot in the door with one of these atlfits the other is pr we all know hound hunting is frowned on by a good portion of the state and most of fish and wildlife in the last year to many hound guys were convicted or had some sort of issue with f and w being mostley with bear gulls now this is not every ones doing but havin a small group of hunters on a system as this sure dont look good for the other guy when a person calls a forestor and sits there and runs there mouth about there main hound guy this is not a good thing some company and almost all the bigger ones are slowley backin away this year alone i know of three that are not issueing permits two that are cutting back on the feed of bears due to a lkack of funding and at the anual bear deperdation meeting the intsist was not showin as was in the past as made clear in 96 hound hunting was banned for this sport the timber companys found a loop hole to still utalize hounds as a control method the only way that you would stand a chance to turn this in to a system like the cougar is to have the timber companys behind you and most of us that hunt these permits know that it wont happend for one the land is locked up 24 7 and they will not give a key to just anyone the fighting between one another wont be taken verry well so until some new paper work comes out saying hound and there handlers are the most afficant method over snairin feeding this will not change
