As far as I know it has. Last I spoke with UKC (months ago) it was all straight.

No, you do not have to have a hunting license in Oregon because you are not actually 'hunting'. Ukc allows no weapons, use a scorecard like golf, so it isn't hunting. It is called a Nite Hunt by UKC, but it is really a field trial to see how well a dog does at the task for which it is bred. You don't need a license to participate in an organizations field trials.

Nora, I would not dismiss not following the rules of a national organization as a 'little' thing' when some people rely on the degree their dog has recieved to promote their dogs. UKC has always been gracious and helpful, there was no imminent danger of losing UKC events as long as communications was kept open and footwork was being made.

word from the wise:

Make sure the dog's paperwork is with you before you leave the house and you have plenty of time to be there before deadline!

5 minutes after deadline is too late and just because you KNOW you put the easy entry card in your wallet doesn't mean it's still there. Have learned this hard way even after being warned of both.

Just to add a little to what Libby said. As being one of the few Bench Show Judges in the area, I will say if you are past the deadline time or you do not have the paper work out lined in the UKC rule book to enter a dog with you and are not allowed to enter your dog/s and you throw a fit, as in swearing, taking it out on other club members, Judges, MOH, and or dogs in ANY way I will be writing those people up this year to UKC. If you can not be on time it is not the clubs problem. We have to go by the rules of UKC.

If you are late be a good sport about it and support the rest of the members. Every one is there to have a good time and BS with other members.
