It's official it is now illegal to run or harass coyotes in the state of Washington at anytime. We let it happen maybe we didn't get the word out I don't know , but everyone in the Hound Council knew about it. So I guess we let the game dept. take all control over us............................................................................................

I'm a law abiding citizen and i break my dogs off of coyotes, its illegal to run deer also, and i don't see anyone trying to get that here. I think the only thing that this does is keeps outlaws from running game that was already illegal, How do you defend that? I will help fight to get bear, bobcat or lions back but not coyotes.

I totally get where you are coming from, it's the fact that we let the game dept. do this on their own because they think the public would want it that way. Well the public wants us out of the woods. On another hand I have ran coyotes in Eastern WA with wolf hound grey hound crosses that was a lot of fun. That is now illegal.

I have to disagree with piglet. And agree that anytime we let them take anything away from us it's just one step closer to total control of our lives. I don't run coyote hounds and there our probably guys that do say that their runnig coyotes and their runnig bear and cougar and bobcats. The whole point is that if thats what they want to do then so be it, it's a chance their taking and when they get caught they'll get punished. Shouldn't ever be glad that they shutdown any season we have because the next one that their gonna close is our coon season. It's getting closer to moving outta state.

One thing I found out is this law was passed by the Dept. Of Wildlife , but it never passed Legislation. The way I understand is it has to pass Leg. to become a law. But yet it is already in the game pamplet........................................

Piglet that is just like saying there are to many guys outlawing so no more running hounds period for anything. That is pretty much a left wing idealogy and answer for problems. And a huge reason you guys lost you lion and bear season .

all it is a slap in the face the next thing to go is our coon hunting if we dont take a stand no matter what someone runs with their dogs, we are going to lose everything.

piglet, come on even if you dont run coyotes its still a houndsman sport and you should support your fellow houndsman. i run bear cat and coyote, but i will defend any hunting run by dogs or not, i hope i misunderstood your post because in my opinion you were way off base with that
