Re: Can you teach a dog to honor another dog
Went out yesterday, cut a bobber track. Cut both dogs loose they both worked it out for awhile. The male ended up trailing the bobber for about 2 miles or so. My female was off on the other ridge. I toned her got her to come to me, walked her up to with in 100 yards of the chase. She acted like she ...

Re: Can you teach a dog to honor another dog
Brock, With out seeing them hunt or knowing anything about them, I'm just guessing here but I would say that at a 1 1/2 old you have done some trash breaking on them together ? And maybe this is a part of why one will not go to the other. The last thing I would do is use a e-collar to try to fix ...

Can you teach a dog to honor another dog
I have two walker pups 1 1/2 years old. If i put them on a track they will run it together. But if I free cast them they won't honor each other. They are both real independent, is there a way to teach them to honor another dog. I know they are just pups. Trying to get my head around if i can teach ...

Re: track time or short pop up
For me I would take the pop ups first, then the longer running cats. I mean you have to be able to crawl before you can walk and walk before you can run. I believe its the same for a dog learning to hunt them tricky cats.

Re: A dog that uses sight as much as its nose
What I don't like about your situation,Kansas, is that you are not in a situation to have gotten her on a few cats by this age. What I do like about it is that she is learning something in your yard. Most people won't let a dog fool with off game by the time they are old enough to seriously hunt and ...

A dog that uses sight as much as its nose
I have a female that is all about hunting. I let her chase rabbits around the yard. Once they are jumped she wants to use her vision as much as her nose. If the grass is taller than her eyes she will jump in the air, while running the track. To see if she can see or hear the rabbit, which I think is ...

Re: New Mexico Zone A GMU 2&7
This is how I see it, if you kill the factory (females) you kill all the product (kittens). But if the the factory is not manage to some point you will have to much product. Its just like deer and elk and every other species. There has to be balance some where in the world.

Re: Aggressive Puppy
No his mom and dad are great hunters. My uncle has never had a problem at the tree with either of them. The mom is a mike kemp dog and the dad is out of topper again. As far as I know neither of those blood lines are aggressive. We have got after him and he seems to be doing better about it. Thanks ...
