what line of hardwood dogs are you looking for. ronny carpenter in NC has the hardwood hook line of dogs. they have worked decent for me on coon, cat, and bear.

we have been feeding blackwood dog food for almost 4 yrs now. with out hounds nothing compares.dont know what others are feeding but if you feed an above average dog food, you may want to check this out. if i get enough interest i may try to become a dealer of the feed.

hastings charlie has been bred to spring's longtrail twig. twig is a cat dog here in VT. cold nose and can move a cat. charlie ( i dont think is hunted much) but produces some above average bear/cat dogs. the only living pups from her first litter cannot be bought.
she will be 4 weeks bred saturday ...

i feel that a pup must know his A, B, C'S before he is cut loose on a bear chase. he should know how to get through the woods, the smells of the woods, how to come to his name, what barking dogs mean, things like that. everyone has different ...

when breeding a dog.. whether it be a bear/coon/cat/lion/fox or rabbit dog.. i would prefer to breed her to a sire of the same blood.. to double up on the traits i am looking for.. and cull the traits i am not.. to better the breed.. IF i had a sackett bred female.. bear ...
