Re: Bobcat dog
Bobcat dogs come in many sizes, colors and styles. I would say find someone that hunts the kind of country and conditions you have and that breeds dogs that catch Bobcats. Not a guy that has a good bobcat dog and has a litter now and then. A good bobcat dog can turn other dogs into good bobcat dogs ...

Re: Sanderson TX
Thanks for sharing, I wish I had kept a better record of hunts gone past. I never really took many pictures when I was younger. After digging a lot of graves I realized that I wish I had more images of lions and dogs. it was great to here of this oldtimer.

Re: "sfw" Montana WOW!!
Remember when we had lots of lions and lots of deer? I do. There is just not enough meat to go around anymore. Hmmm> I wonder what might have changed in the last few years to cause the hoofed game to disappear. Gosh they tell us the moose have contracted a nasty parasite. Yeah, it's called " Canis ...

Re: Jagds on bobcats?
am considering looking for one. I have a great affection for terriers and would love to just run some bobcats. I have had hounds for twenty years and have had acouple pretty good bobcat dogs, however the wolves have broken me from wanting a cold nosed dog that can get out from under you too fast. I ...

Re: Sadie & Ol' Roy
This was a real nice tom that Ryker's dog Sadie treed by herself. Big brother Lane was the lucky hunter. It was a long day, not without some adversity, but in the end the dog work was outstanding

Re: Stinkin' Wolves
I have been talking to some top notch trappers up north and feel that we can make a difference next year. Most of the guys around here are struggling to catch wolves because they simply do not have enough patience and there are some little things that are keeping them from catching. I have no ...

Re: Dads nice tom
Het Dillon, tell us a bit more about that day and tell us about the dogs. This experience is now behind you and someday you will be old and gray and a tear will come to your eye when you look at those old pictures. Write something in a journal so you can clearly remember how the air smelled and what ...

Re: Thoughts on Montana Reg. 1 permit and Reg. 2 hybrid seas
There just are not as many cats as there was a few years ago around here. What I am finding are more toms. Not big old toms, but bigger and older toms than in recent years. For years Jerry Brown ( our biologist) would have an anual meeting in the spring to discuss next years quotas. He hated the ...

Re: Thoughts on Montana Reg. 1 permit and Reg. 2 hybrid seas
At least they let us vote. I think a hybrid season would be bad for us. The fact is, there is not that much catfood left out there. Killing more cats is not going to bring it back either. We had lots of hoofed game when we had high cat numbers in the 90s. I have mixed feeling about the MOGA ...

Re: Thoughts on Montana Reg. 1 permit and Reg. 2 hybrid seas
Cody, I heard about the rat race from quite a few of those HDs. You should not have to hunt so hard to find a tom, any tom. what is wrong with not filling all of the tags? We fought Jim Williams tooth and nail at our meeting and he still raised them 20%. We are finding fresh lion kills that are gone ...
