Lets Talk Leopards

Postby BlueGill » Thu Apr 22, 2010 1:57 pm

Hello everyone. My name is Steve and I am from N. Florida. I am interested in leopards for hog and coon. I am interested in learning as much about the different leopard blood lines out there as I can before buying a dog or pup. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have noticed a few names repeted out there but dont know any of the common traits associated with them.
Thanks for the help and im lookin forward to learnin bout leopards.

your best bet would be Texasboars.com where they run Leopards,Cata houndas,BMC and every thing else. or bayed up.com

Hey Steve, Here you go: Leopard Cur Message Board
http://www.voy.com/147738/

Also, http://www.UKCdogs.com has a section for American Leopard Hound, and that is probably where you will get tons of response to any questions you might have about Leopard dogs.

Here is something I lifted from the UKC board for you:

Love's Leopard pups
I am posting this for a friend Rickey Love, who has pups now and will continue to have in the future McDuffey / Bowers breeding 256-310-2272... Ricks line has been used successfully on bear, hog, coon.

I sure would like to try one of Rickys dogs someday. He has got dogs with common ancestry with Russ Barneys Buster dog, and now, I beleive he also has something out of Blue, who was a daughter of Buster. Crossing his with the Blue descendants. I sure would love to own one if I was hunting. I am not.

It is weird to me, but Buster was possibly the coldest nosed dog I have seen of any breed. I did not see enough of him to know for sure. But he usually had his head up, which made him look hot nosed. I hunted him with a notoriously cold nosed hound, and Buster could strike and move a bobcat track this hound did not even know was in the woods. He got it jumped and treed. He was amazing as rig dog as well.

There is only one place I know where a person MIGHT get more Buster ancestry than from Ricky. There are no pups available from that source now, and may never be. Other than that, Ricky is the man, as far as I know.

Are these pups out of Rusty Dutchman? Hobo? Boomerang?

any chance of getting these pups' three generation?
