coon season in CA
When is coon season in CA, and how many coons can a person have during the season, i know all the other animal seasons just dont know much on coon, i useally just trap catch my coons and play with the dogs, i plan on huntn them more know cuz my daughter loves to hunt them. thx

I don't know if it is the same in the entire state but in Northern Ca, it runs from the middle of Nov. to the end of March. It is training season from the time kill season closes until it opens again.

sounds good, how many coon, or should i say how many tags per hunter do you get. that is my big consern

I believe there is no bag limit on coon in Ca when they're in season.

i don't think so either. You don't have to have any tags, just a valid hunting license to hunt coon. Depending where you are at though, there are restrictions on the light you use. I don't exactly know what they are but there are people on this site who do.

i am located in the modoc area called Tionesta near medicine lake about an hour from the oregon border or 3 hrs north of redding

Are there many coon in the Modoc area? I know I have seen alot of wallhanger bucks from that area.

I think I mentioned to you before that Jim Lyman is from that area, suprised you guys don't know eachother. I sold him a dog also (Mundo). I know him and a few other guys all hunt around there. I will have to get ahold of him.
By the way how is Sway doing? Last I heard from you was bear season, and that she had done good.

cassandra, hay, sway is doin great she has been started on bobs last season and got beat up alittle but she will be fine, anyway if you could talk to him or give me his number. Bearman there are some coon but only near the ditch banks around the farm lands, but out here in the woods there are zero coon, but like you said some good bucks thats for sure. thx
