We have a jagd for coons. We raised here with the hounds and have worked with the hounds and she doesnt mind the other dogs. First time i seen one work (her sire)we ran a coon into a slash pile and i thought to my self that little dog was gonna get its ass wopped but sure as shit stinks it brought that bore coon out dead. So we got one and shes nothing but grit. Dont judge them by there size. Ours is 15 pounds and can kick a coons ass every day of the week and twice on sunday.

At one point, I saw the jagd breed go from a good breed of dog to a breed with more dog aggressive dogs in the breed but I think that the breeders today are breeding that out and putting alot more nose into them too.
I have used mine on bear and they will sure enough get in there and grab hair. I had one hold on about 30 feet up the tree as the bear went up. They are amussing, but I wouldn't ever get them just for bear. They are more of a underground dog. But being terriers they are very smart and will hunt about anything you put them on.
One thing about Jagds is that you will either love them or you will really hate them.
The only other animal that people have such strong feelings about is a mule.

Mr. Papojack hit the nail on it's head- 100% you either love em or hate them. I have 4 left out of 8, tough little critters, just don't seem to live very long. They have no fear and hunting lion or bobcats seem to get em where they meet their match. I don't know how those hogs hunters keep em alive. They are on the move constantly and will find trouble all the time. Rattlesnakes are bad on em.

They can be worked to get along at the tree, and can be used to trail, but it takes work, time and patience. Once you put all that into them you'll love em and wished you had more, then their gone.

I only have a half intrest in this, but my little half jagd is one bad unit. As stated by others she is all in grit. She has been on a handful of hogs and only been cut once. She did however, work that boar alot closer than all the others. I think she got cut and it pissed her off. I have also used her to trail up cats on drags. She didn't work the trail like my hounds, but winded the track and was the first one to jump in the middle of the cat. I'm not for sure, but I would bet she could have killed the cat by herself. I let the other dogs off so I guess we'll never know. I love my little gyp to death, but it may not be her jagd side that make me like her. But if I had the funds I would sure like to try a full Jagd. Catch you later Kiel

Her daddy is full jagd and the dam is 1/2 ridgeback 1/4 cat. and 1/4 plott. So many breeds to love in one tight little package. Catch ya Later Kiel

This a little female my buddy flew in from Croacia, My son flew to Califonia today to pick her up. She has had a long journey. She is still in Salt Lake and will be here tomorow.
She is a year old had has been used on hogs and fox.

I have one that looks pretty much like her. He is Half walker 1/4 Jagd 1/8 plott and 1/8 bloohound. He is about the same size as yours. I will get some pictures of him.

Nice looking dogs. I miss my jadgs and plan on getting some more one day. I still have acsess to one of my males so, I may breed him to a small hound gyp that I have.

She came from Bill brockman here in NE New Mexico. He let me see both the sire and dam hunt the day I picked up her litter mate. They were both pretty impressive dogs. The sire was the first jagd I had seen and imo is a first class find dog. Maybe one of these days he'll have another litter of full blooded jagds when I have alittle coin in my pocket.lol When you make a cross with one do you use the jagd as the sire to cover the larger breed female or are the female jagds able to welp the pups from the larger breeds without much problems?
