Re: Who is Jeff Allen?
I have never met or talked to Jeff, so there are a lot of other guys on here that can go into depth on this topic. By his reputation, Jeff is a hunter that hunts extremely hard. He sells young dogs that can get the job done. He is completely HONEST in his dealings! To my knowledge, he has never misrepresented a dog. Jeff commonly sells dogs for below the market value of similarly trained and capable dogs from other well known houndsmen. If you are looking for a lion dog, Jeff would be a good place to inquire.

Re: Who is Jeff Allen?
Benny,
you nailed that right on. Jeff's dogs usually are priced well below what they would be from other hunters who have dogs of similar quality and experience. I know one tgentelment in Arizona that normally gets double for the same quality dog Jeff is selling and nobody complains about it after they take them hunting.
I have known and hunted with Jeff for nearly 20 years and he is just as ate up with dirt lion hunting today as he was way back then. He is very demanding in his dogs and they better pound the dirt and catch if they are going to eat his food very long. They better handle too if they know what's good for them. LOL!
Jeff has helped me tremendously over the years and is a good friend. He is however not without quirks just like the rest of us. LOL! He is a very kind hearted guy but you do not want to get on the wrong side of him cuz he has an extreemly short fuse. LOL!

He is also Cabela's largest volume lion outfitter, probably 50 plus lion per year.

Re: Who is Jeff Allen?
Jeff still hits it pretty hard I don't know about 50 lions though. He has a several years where he has caught that many but I don't know these days becasue they are pounded out pretty hard all over.
Jeff did give me a quick call from a high point yesterday high in the ledges in his usual fashion he said. What's going on boss? I said not much here how about you? He said me and Steve have been pounding on theis stinking old tom all freaken day now it's three O;clock and I still don't know if we are going to jump him. Then I heard the hounds in the background pick up and he said gotta go, and this was it. Pretty typical for a day in Jeff's life. LOL!

So where does Jeff Allen guide? I thought he lived down around Kanab, but he must hunt in Arizona cause he's not listed as an outfitter or guide in Utah through the Division of Occupational & Professional Licensing.......

Re: Who is Jeff Allen?
50 lions!!! How many would be toms? If this is true you know he has good dogs but you also know he maybe part of the over harvest which has caused his numbers to dwindle.

Re: Who is Jeff Allen?
i'm pretty sure that he only tree's around fifty lions, if he killed all fifty of them he would have a lot of people pissed off at him, and from the sounds of it he is liked alot. he would aslo have switch states every few years.

Re: Who is Jeff Allen?
Jeff will laugh his a$$ off when i copy this post and send it to his email. Tom Doman refers to him simply as the STALION. If you want to know who he is give him a call he loves to talk dogs and is a humble man
Re: Who is Jeff Allen?
Let's say I wanted to purchase a Jeff Allen dog today how would I get in contact with him? Like the original post said I have read for months on how good Jeff's dogs are but you never read where he can be contacted.
Re: Who is Jeff Allen?
There are several guys on here that could get you in touch with Jeff, but if you don't hear from any of them, PM Mike leonard.
