Losing hair??

Post by walkerdog »

My Daisy dog just had a litter of pups 2 weeks ago, I started noticing a couple days ago that the hair on one of her ears is thinning out alot, now today I see there is a spot about the size of a quarter going bald too. I've never had this happen, what could it be from? She eats really well, she is full of energy, is it stress maybe? Any thoughts would be appriciated.

have had some do that. it is caused by a hormone imbalance.. most likely she will loose a lot more hair until those pups are weaned and then it will take 2-3 more weeks to clear up.
If you breed her again expect it again.

I started weening the pups a little early with milk replacer and soft food a couple times a day. I don't like weening them this early, so they still nurse but not near as much. They are almost 4 weeks old now and fat and healthy and my females hair started coming back in pretty quickly and she is looking better.
