a question about my pup
Last week I caught a coon in a live trap so I took it and my pup out. I turned it out and waited about 30 second and. let the dog loose. she chased it about a mile and a half it then got caught in dry irrigation ditch with tumble weeds on both end bloke by tumbleweeds by the time I got there it was pacing back and forth in the bottom and her siting on the bank not doing nothing but every time it tried coming out she would snap at it. Is this normal for a pup about 9 months not to bark or bay at it
Re: a question about my pup
it's not unusual. why should she bark if no one else is? aslong as she was gamey i wouldn't be worried
Re: a question about my pup
Be real careful turning a pup out by itself on a cage coon . if the coon grabs the pup it could set you back, make sure it goes up a tree first .

Do the same thing but with a coon crazy dog either on a leash if you don't want the coon hurt or just turned loose, if the pup has it you'll see a big difference.

She's a young dog. Give her time. She's gamey. It's still a whole new world. Try to take her out with a hound that has hunted some coons.
All and all she seems like shes on her way..
best of luck, Robb
