same cycles

Post by jkcasey »

I have 3 females, all different ages and breeds. All three come into heat with in days of one another. Is this common?

Mine don't come in at the same time at all. Had a buddies dogs do that. He claimed they worked of each other in some hormonal way. I think you are just lucky. I wish mine came in at the same time, preferably just before my hunting season and just after!

That's what I was thinking. I've heard about women in the same house doing it but not dogs.

I had never heard of the women in the same house thing. So I asked my wife. Although she doesn't like being compared to the dogs she said that from what she understood it is normal for women in the same house. She seems to think it would be normal for all species. I should probably think before I ask her questions, and I definitly shouldn't call it "coming into heat" when I am talking about her. Lesson learned.

Oh my! LOL Now that I picked myself up off the floor, mine do...both hounds and women. They call it "Sorority Syndrom" around these parts.

That's true. It usually ends with someone crying. Most of the time it's me. :(

It is true that females confined to the same quarters can eventually cycle together. It is a hormone cascade that follows. Although the exact mechanism has not been totally identified yet it is observed by both Psychologist, Biologists and the rest of the medical world.

Kiel, I've been out of pocketfor a few days. This is the first post that I came back to. Your'e too much, and your'e killin me. It sure was agood laugh after all those mile down the hiway. Since I'm aware of your situation, and love all of those females at your house, I need to caution you not to drown in that estrogen ocean. Take care and thanks for the laugh - especially George.

My females all come in at the same time. It used to not be that way. But over a couple years of bein kenneled by each other they always come in with in a few days of each other.
