Honest question Ike, one doesn't use an E-collar to reinforce good behavior afterall.Ike wrote:kevin, don't be a dipshit please! Gotcha Ike. See, that wasn't so tough.......don't know why you have to flip out and be so paranoid.
I still have to electrify some of my older knotheads too just to let them know I still can!

Re: When to stop using the E-collar
Ok enough with the e-collar! You experienced guys know what you your are going to do.. and you neophites will learn given time.. damn this ain't excactly rocket science. Hell Benny G's signature by Clell Lee about tells it all. His little brother Dale was instumental in the old Green and then Tri-Tronics invention. Best thing that ever happened to bird dog or hog dog or hound dog men! Damn Old Dale Lee had too much time up in them White Mountains over by that Strayhorse corral for thinking. Oh well I was over there a couple of weeks ago and thanked him proper.

Re: When to stop using the E-collar
Gotta chime in hear and give my opinion I am the guy george was talking about on the riggin lions post. I haven't used an ecollar on a dog in over 5 years. never said mine are broke or that they come back every time, but for the most part I don't have too much b.s. I am not critisising you guys that use them because every reason you gave makes sence to me. my biggest reason for not using them is I don't need more gear to carry, charge, lose etc. If I was running into alot of problems with my older dogs trashing or not coming back I would probably have to dig the old tritronics back out and shapem up. I don't even use it on my pups anymore. I turn out and whoever wants to make a lion or bear tree will and whoever wants to go cheerleading and trashing can do that as well. eventually if they don't conform to the ways of my old dogs they will be headed to that kennel in the sky. But so far every one of my "Hook" blood pups comes out as a "Hook" deciple and follows her every move. A good lead dog can teach them young pups more than you could ever teach with a shock stick. not picking on Ike or george or saying that my dogs are mentally superior in any way, I'm just sharing my style that has been workin perfect for me and my dogs.
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.
