Senior Project cat dog
hey, im training a walker pup for my senior project, and i really need some good tips on training him/her for bobcat. whether its breaking it off trash, or just different techniques to train, and have em become a good cat dog.

I am sure there is someone in oregon that will take you under there wing and help you out. The best training tool seems to be other hunters and seasoned dogs. My cousin will be hanging with me for his senior project too next school year. Good luck with yours.

X2 on the Mike Leonard training with the grawes scent, with getting a pup started. And spend as much time with the pup as you can, mine acts more confident when I am able to spend more time with him. Dont be afraid to ask questions on here these guys on here are very helpful.

Re: Senior Project cat dog
Teach her basic obedience and let her be a puppy until shes old enough to hunt. Forget the drags, roll cages and all that. Hunt her with the best cat dogs you can and as much as you can. Listen to what you mentor tells you, if he is a good cat hunter he has probably forgot more than you will ever know. Go to her when shes treed, no matter where or how miserable it may be to get there. If you don't know whats happening get off the road and find out. And last but not least, never ever, under any circumstances, no matter what age, let her get away with running trash. Good luck and have fun.
