Our houndsmen mentor gave me this wonderful quote in regards to deer chasing dogs.

"Deer chasing dogs aren't bad. They just need to be broke. You just want to stay away from the one's who chase deer and do it badly. THOSE dogs are the culls"

"BIGIDY BIGIDY BIGIDY BOYS! LETS GO HUNTIN'!!!" not much of a quote, just something my crazy uncle butch always says

"Any dog will track and tree, its our job as hunters to teach them what to hunt, and the ones that listen to command and respect their owner is what makes them good hunting dog" thats what some wierd guy at the petsmart told me, but its true
its not were you come from, its were your going

Gary Logsden told me once that my dog was a nice looking hound Rod Clawitter was sitting there he smiled and told me anyone that says that about a dog that looks like that is trying to sell me something. He had a good sense of humor i had it coming i had just made a smart remark to him about his dog.

beagle girl --- you can use whatever word you want-- lol and it depends who said it , what word it is -- :) - it may be FOOL - thats an f word -

bear hunting is 90% bordum 10% the biggest adrenalin rush you'll ever have" old timer that got me into this. ya kwow he's right

lol yes he is -- 90 % chasing dogs -- or 90% misery lol -

lot of time spent bear hunting when i have no expectation at all of catching a bear- im just looking for dogs or looking for a track -- or just trying to get truck unstuck-or repaired - -

u dont have to be crazy to run hounds but it helps--

it's called Hound Hunting for a reason. You spend most of your time hunting hounds!

It's funny, when I learned that the old board had been cancelled, the first thing I thought about was the fact that the favorite quotes thread was lost to me, and I wanted it back. Please, anyone that can remember any of the quotes at all, even if you are not quite sure you got em right, pleease post them here again, and please dont fear being repetitive or any other fear you might have. I would pay the price of a good book to have those old quotes, and the new ones too. thanks to all who contribute.

here's one I remember. It might have been Rex Laker who said:
"always remember, you can never have too many dogs"
