I had a pup that treed her first cat at 8mos and I popped it out with my little 22. Then both of us went a little crazy that night as one might expect. From then on she would grab a bayed cat or one in a rock pile, she would lunge at the cat turn her head slightly to the right and the cat would grab her left ear and she would turn into the cat sinking her teeth into the throat and lay down till it was dead, this little walker/bluetick weighed only 40 lbs but what a cat killer she was.....So don't be afraid to let a pup tree all they can because a 22 can tip the odds.

Tear it up dude!!!! mine get culled if they won't catch their own by one or shortly after depending on the dog.
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.
