never did pay much atention to color or breed as long as it puts critters in trees . the momma to that redtick pup was a papered redbone.most guys i know only hunt one breed. i guess if your breeding just for papers thats cool but i dont comp hunt so i will take two good dogs dispite their breed and hope some good trates get past on. maybe not the best way but its been working for me so far. thanks
