Hell fire man you need to pull up stakes , collar them hounds and come out here. No it ain't perfect and wit the administration we have it is in tuff shape but you can still grab a good cup of go get em and get gone. Hell fols there is not maybe one or two that will even remember your name 100 years from today. So I say let's go have some fun Jesse James!

Hunter, Are you talking about these wonderful wildlife management areas (WMA's)? Certainly the control freaks haven't yet got that type of ridiculousness on the national forests yet, have they?

Mike. I have been in your neck of the woods. Farmington and San Juan. I loved it there. The amount of BLM land was incredible to me. It snowed acouple days while we were there and I saw a cat track on the road that takes you up across the San Juan lake dam and could only wish I had a pack of dogs. I have two kids that I just couldn't leave to move out there no matter how beautiful it was.
Dan, I am talking about the "WMA" here. The rule book on them is thicker than the King James Bible. The TWRA leases the National Forest and impose their rules on it. So yeah, it's just as bad. I hunt across the border alot. At least they aren't complete asses over there.

I've been told that on Clinton's departure from office, he designated a bunch of national forest as WMA for states. It's all control control control. I wonder if it will happen again when Nobama goes out. And, watch out west coast!!!
Re: ATV, Horses/Mules, Hiking in
I was told by a man who attended the meeting (because he has land surround by NF) that the TWRA rejected letting the NFS personel control burn several large areas. The NFS went in and marked off the areas to burn. They were just pines that had fallen and were pretty much impassable anyways and of no real value to wildlife. I didn't know that was possible. Maybe he came away from the meeting misiformed but, he is an honest fella.
