40 wow! My pack of 4 plotts put up 25. Never hunted mine with anyone elses. I'm trying to get mine goin on the foxes and bobcats, but I've only ever ran them on bear so having to go out and find tracks in the snow to put them on. Right now the snow is so frozen on top that you can't see a track for nothin!

Yep, we got snow. We always get snow in the winter, not as much as weed area, but we get a fair amount. Last year we got over 2 foot dumped on us at once. We've had about 3 inches on the valley floor so far, but much more in the mountains where we hunt (which as you know are in our back yard). Every year the road over GreyBack to Oregon is closed due to the snow (and the county don't plow it).

cahoundsmen, thats pretty good hunting. I wish I had that much time to hunt. Every one I talk to had a really good season this year. Bears were everywhere I went. Bummer the season closed a week or two early, but I guess that's what ya get when the hunting is good!!

We didn't find alot of bear this year around here, there was nothing to eat. This county also killed a crapload of bears on depradations this year, alot of them were big boars too. It also doesn't help that just about every bear track around here anymore ends up in a gut pile. Until CA puts some restrictions on out of state guides I guess that will keep happening...hopefully next year will be better. You just can't keep whacking the hell out of the bears and not expect it to have an impact...I mean 2 + 2 equals 4, right? However, I can't complain about the dog work this year for the amount of bears we put out after we caught 99% of them, 98% in trees and a couple on the gound. Seemed like the foothills and coast were good this year but at the price of gas we just hunt around here. The recent storms have now left us snowed out, house bound and cranky! Hope those of you that can get out continue to have a good year.

Season been over a week now here in NC. Cold turkey. I'm tearing the web down for a fix. Last bear seen was week before it closed. Couldn't find one last day, weekend warrior you know. Found one in snow the next morning but had to work. Back to 60's so their still crawling around. Plenty of feed in places still. Should grow us some bear this year. Boars especially the big boys won't have any real trouble staying out if the weather doesn't change. Track I found was headed for rock ledges. Probably just to wait it out, might stay up. Congrats on your season sounds good and fun.

I went out yesterday fox huntin' in the fresh snow and saw 2 bear trax!! I was surprised. Them bears are usually done by now, especially with all the snow we've got. Musta been because of the good feed year.
