Anybody running same dogs on bears and Hogs?

Would like to see and hear about some of yalls bear and hog dogs.

I run my dogs, on hogs and bears, few bobcats. I have one walker thats a good strike/trail wiil bay not that good though.The rest are plotts. My plotts will bay, tree, and strike/trail. I made one cross over a swampland plot male over my dads plot blood and there really good. But there eyes will glaze over and they have to bite or chew. I have one right now thats 6 months and i pray she lives to be year, because she is little dumb and to aggresive on bears. But she wont weaken so heck with it...They ,ake new dogs everyday.

we will trail hogs with our bear dogs but putting hog dogs on a bear don't work out to good a lot of times. most hog dogs are to agressive for bears, if you have a hog dog that will only bay and doesn't try to grab you would probably be all right. i have a cattahoula that got on a bear and when he bayed on the ground the dog grabbed him like he does a hog, now he has claw marks from the back of his neck all the way to his hips and i have seen a couple of other hog dogs get killed by a bear.

Yes, you can do very well using the same dogs on hogs and bear. We hunt hogs in Texas year round and bear in N.M. during the season. No problems.

I run my walkers on bear in the winter and hogs the rest of the year. I start them on hogs first, if they don't do well pigs, they aren't here long enough for bear season to start.
