It was a short meeting so you guys didn't miss much. I didn't expect much of a turn out with everyone hunting and the nice weather. I'm not sure when we will have another meeting. I was thinking of running it by everyone and maybe we could put together a potluck at one of the parks and have a get together for all the families and kids sometime in August. We used to do this with the old Cowlitz County Hound Club. If anyone has some input let me know.

That sounds like fun to me. Lewisville Park in Battle Ground would be a nice place, but there may be some where a little farther up north clsoer to you guys that would work good too.

No Kelly, we didn't do any events this summer. Money was a big issue. Plus everyone was so busy this spring. I know I have been, I'm just now slowing down since April. And it's time to start up again in a few weeks. Hopefully by next year we will do some events. We are still wet behind the ears as a club. Once we can get more interest we will run with it.

I did see that the hound council meeting is at Matlock race on the 14th. Everyone please try and make it a success.

Apparently no-one cared that they were using snares. If no one cares I will not push the issue. I will not fight for my opions only I will only fight for the opions of the sportsmen of Washington.

I am assuming it was supposed to be black bears with the snaring, because i dont see snaring blacks to be ok with much people. Thats what i was trying to get at. I am curious about these hunting groups but everything seems to be on the coast or downsouth.

Hey Mic,

I don't think it is that no one cares about the snaring. I don't like the idea of snares for population control. I personally am not a bear hunter but I would be more than willing to back up anyone that is pursuing the interest of hounds men and women in this state. I don't know if the snares are for a study or not. If they are for a study then I support the use of them on the idea that the results of the study could generate some hunting. If we can show that the snares are for population control than lets get after it. If there are signs up that say they are for population control it would be nice to include some pictures with a whole bunch of letters. I hope you understand where I come from on this. I want to be supportive to other hounds men, but I don't want to flood the Game Dept with letters of concern if they are not warranted. I feel like we have developed a good line of communication with the Game Dept so I wouldn't want to loose any ground.

Thanks for bringing it up and for the all the work yourself and your family has put forth.

Don't yell at me Buddy but I had to move this back to the top. Anyways guys and gals August 21st at Woodland WA again @ Gilliano's pizza. 7:30 pm. We can discuss whether we want to hold monthly meetings or not? Some guys want more meetings and others want it like we are doing it. Whatever you people want we will make happen. It's your club we will run it the way you want it.
