pretty neat huntin spot

I went out for a dry cast with my trusty old ponie "buck",my bandit dog and two of the 1 year olds from last years litter.(both like to hunt dry ground like you wouldn't belive). anyway, the lions and deer have pretty much left this spot till late fall but I figured I would go check it anyway. couldn't get anything going but I had a great horse ride and the dogs had a blast. I took a few pics and figured I would show you what it looks like about 30 min from my house. I would like too see some pics of some country that you hunt and see if I hunt the prettiest country or if anything else holds a candle. I still can't figure out how to make my pics pop up big so you don't have to double click each one to see it. any help with that would be apreciated. I have tried photobucket and image shack, I'm sure there's a way to do it I just can't figure it out.

Sweet pics mike. that looks alot like where I hunt in central utah. I can choose between desert cliffs or mountain cliffs, but their almost always gona end up in cliffs of some kind.

I hunt the mountians of Northern New Mexico, Taos area. Looks some what like your area, but much more timber and alot steeper. Clifts and rocks are common as well as long runs. My dogs and I hunt alot on dry ground and on foot, covering up to twenty miles in a day is not uncommon. I do use a mule at times, but it becomes a bit difficult when the terrain gets steep and heavy with downed timber. The views from many of the peaks are spectacular and it is great to know that you are in an area that no other human has been in for quite some time. I" m sure you know the feeling, that is why we do what we do and love it so much!!

I don't know if you noticed in the one pic that there is an upper and a lower mesa. about 800 fett of altitude seperates them. both are 20 miles long and shear cliff seperates them. there are only a few spots where a human can even make it down. the cats on the other hand can use caves and shutes to cruiz down or up at will. lotta fellars have got dogs threw off those cliffs and most local guys wont even hunt there. that's why I love it.

on bley!!!!! That's what the real rock climbers say. I think they would be impressed to see a houndsmen with two dog leashes and a carabiner climb a 5-12 B with two dogs tied to him. or her.

I have not taken as many pics as i would like because i usually leave the camera in the truck on accident . My country is pretty diverse and goes from desert to fir trees all within about 20 miles. Love the country just wish a guy could do a little more huntin
