skunk breaking!!!!!!!!

hay looking for good way to break one of my younger hounds from skunks? he loves them he gets toned or shockd when he goes after one but hard to know wat hes doing evertime!! any help would be sweet!!!!

if it was me every time i seen a skunk in the road or ditch (all the time here) i would set him up just like i do for deer let pup out of the box and if pup even acts like it might be fun to chase burn him

I've used the hot wire on my horse fence with a deer hide or a coyote hide, I lay a drag with the hide then hang the hide a foot off the ground hooked to the hot wire, with there hot collar on, let them find the trail and wait for them to find the hide , once there nose touches it and they run off then let them have it with the hot collar they catch on pretty quick.

I dug my dog out of the dog box on a road killed skunk and let her understand I didn't agree with her chasing them and I've never had another problem with her coming back to me on a coon hunt smelling like a skunk.

Whenever you find a fool proof skunk breaking method let me know.

I have a 5 year old female who's been set up, down, and anywhere in between. She's had her brain fried to the point that I think it turned to charcoal and rolled out her ear. She's had a few good talks with god. Been made to wear it, eat it, and sleep with it...

SHE WILL KILL ANY AND EVERY SKUNK SHE COMES TO. The only thing she hates worse is a bear. I have seen her kill a skunk, her face yellow, saturated with piss, and go on a tree a bear...

Cassandra, there are a very few just that stubborn. I had a good dog (other than the skunk problem) that I could not break. Now this was before shockers, but I think the result would have been the same. I got her to where she would not open on trail or bay bark at them, but she would still silently catch and kill them. Certainly the dog was female.
