Bear taken last day of season in Calif.

Post by teleskier »

This is a bear I took the last day of season here in California. The dogs struck just minutes after being rigged on the box. They ran the bear up canyon then the bear turned down again, treeing within a quarter mile of the truck. We were able to drive the quad to within 100 ft. of the bear, winched it across a creek and up to the quad then drove it to the truck. Easiest pack I have ever had. Only 325lb. but the fur was in top condition. Had it loaded in the truck by 9:30 am.

I'm sure I'll have a great time when I move up to Nor-Cal...Trinity County... here in central CA any bear over 300 lbs. is just huge, seems like you Nor-Cal folks get those and bigger regularly! Nice job and that's a fine looking bear there... :D
