if you could change laws what would you do

So if you could change some laws in the state you hunt what would they be. I would have it leagal to have your dogs in the woods 365 days a year and be able to run cougars and bear . This is in oregon.

I would make it legal to have dogs in the woods as long as no elk or deer hunts were going on. also I would make female subquotas on lions. and legal to bait bears. Utah.

I would like to see bobcat tags without a furbearers permit and year round persuit for bobcat. Combine a persuit permit Bear, Lion, Bobcat. X2 on female subquota for harvest objective.

I would like to see more training zones opened in Ca and GPS allowed. I would like to say all the hills opened up but I have to admitt after talking to the old timers there were a lot of bear being killed out of season when running was allowed all year. Lion hunting of course. I also would like to make it mandatory for all wardens to have had a hunting license and fishing license for at least 5 consectutive years prior to being hired and forced to maintain those licenses. I would like for Fish and Game to have an internall review board to investigate complaints like a police agency does instead of just one person handling the complaint. I would like to take away wardens authority to search your vehicle just because you are hunting. I also would like to change fish and games authority to come on my property without a warrant if they suspect hunting is occurring. I didnt give up my rights when I bought a hunting license although the U.S. Supreme court disagrees with me.

Agree, we used to have a combined bear/lion persuit tag but they split that up.

Also, we have a wildlife management area that they close (lock gates) to motorized vehicles during the winter months. However they give out 3 keys to individuals that have lion tags on a first come first serve basis. These keys are supposed to be checked out by the person holding a valid kill permit, can only be kept for 10 days, then turned back to the regional office. My expirience has been that at any given time 2 of the keys are out to guides. This area used to be open to everyone. I have inquired as to the logic behind this policy and as to why the need to lock sportsman out. The answers I got were very weak to say the least. I know there are other wildlife management areas in the state and that they may be managed this way also. I would like to see these areas opened back up for sportsman to enjoy. They should have never been locked in the first place.

well i would began by giving more control/responsibility to local governments and therefore the people who vote them in office. remove the absolute control of big gov/money. that would solve many issue relating to culture clashes between areas with rural pops and those made up of metros. may seem odd but think about it some. second i would protect our heritage and economic futures by placing safe guards on agricultural issues and the right to be economically sustainable for the individual not biased towards large industry. then legislate that all excess natural resources be made available to local populations at a reasonable fee first. this would require people be residents of a area before they had any claim on a local resource then they would compete against other locals in their use of it. this would include game species. any excess game permits would then be available to widening circles of population. this wouldn't keep hunting legal forever unless there where sustainable populations and that would be the job of those using the resource the most. this works in many places and it also works for more then one item. hopefully it would teach real conservation which is insuring that your grandkids have the same options you did. it's the non-rational laws from large uninformed areas that cause many of our current issues.
how many people over harvest their own cattle? not many and not for long. the same can be said for many things the more someone knows about a situation the better their response is. would it keep hounds in our lives probably if we made good impressions on our neighbors and had put the work in to educate them in the benefits.
I for one would rather spend the energy in educating the people around me then some liberal pavement pounder in L.A

well i would say for washington being able to run an animal besides a coon. i wouldnt care if it was only pursuit, i'd still be happy just leagaly being able to put up a bear, longtail or bob. all the hunting got shut down in 1996. and as of last year its illegal to run a coyote, which i dont even know anyone that did in this state. they were even trying to shut running coons at night but luckly they didnt get that one. this state has became way to overpopulated with those tree huggin bastards.

I second that for Washington it does really suck in this state. Just starting to get into the sport and the only thing i can look forward to hunt is coon. and I was running in idaho a little bit but all u hear about is them stupid freakin wolves. I say open it all up with Quotas and chase season!!!!

I agree 100% with Pegleg! Most of our problems regarding the management of wildlife and hunting regulations could be solved by moving the authority and enforcement to a more local level. It seems to have been awhile since we have had a government for the people by the people.

I would like to vote for CA's Fish and Game Commission members. check out youtube "hound hunter speaks out against HSUS" and you'll see what we are up against. They are currently appointed by the governor for six year terms. They have too much power in my opinion,

I would love to go back to a year round lion season in the dry areas. Without the aid of snow, we have never met the quotas in New Mexico.

Be able to run and pursue bears with hounds. I feel it would increase your odds of having a chance at a big boar. Most bear areas here close in a few days from people shooting sows the size of a border collie. And open year round no tag limit on hippies,illegal immigrants, and rope suckers. Wyoming
