how to get my dogs to trail.

Ive showed them live coons,and layed trails with bear and coon scent and i can tell they smell them but they just arnt that interestedin trailing.any help?

Take him/her hunting, sooner or later if it's in em they will take track. I never had the best of luck with training sents, but I quess all sents aint created equal either. And when I say hunting I dont mean riding around in a truck all day hoping they'll wind something. Walk in areas the game you intend to hunt habitate. Or if you or friend has a good trained dog (no junk) let the pup tag along he'll get it or he wont. On edit; I should point out it takes a whole lot of boot leather to train a dog to hunt on thier own.
