Re: Humbling experiences
This has been one that happened years ago that I will never forget I was coon hunting one nite with a couple buddies and at that time I had my best dog out and was really high on how good he was and to tell the truth he really was a pretty nice allaround dog. We were heading up the creek and the dogs opened up and was moving the track pretty well when my dog pulled of from the pack and headed right through the middle of a big field and locked down and started treeing, right away I was yappin my trap and tellin everyone how great my dog was. So we started up the field to my hound as the other dogs were still opening up going up the creek. As we got closer to my old hard treeing hound I could see he was out in the middle of the field treeing on a power pole and could see this black blob at the top and right away I was yappin again saying where the heck are the other dogs and then we shined the pole to find my dog treein his gutts out on a transformer.
I have never lived it down to this day. Maybe this is why I dont coon hunt any more
The home of TOPPER AGAIN bred biggame hounds.
