hood mats

hi guys i was thinking about getting a hood mat for my 2000 chevy silverado any one have some pics of there's i can look at thanks

sorry no pics, but I did see some guys that had a piece of plywood that was lifted up off the hood a few inches by something that was soft, maybe carpet rolls? Then they strapped it to the back of the hood and down to the front bumper. This was on a Bronco II.

I don't have a truck that gets good mileage, so I was thinking of building a "box" (or maybe just a platform) that would be attached to a reciever hitch off the front bumper of my Discovery. Be kinda cool if it folded up when not in use and then put in the reciever in back.
