Front Shoulder Rehab?
I would be open for opinions on shoulder rehab, on a dog. I got three dogs banged up on a bear, and all are bit up in the front shoulders, and or ribs broke. I realize time to heal is a factor, but seen dogs, laid up a few months, run them, and their shoulders bother them, any suggestions? I was thinking of running them behind a four wheeler when ready, and slowly build them up again? Like to hear your opinions

Swimming is a great idea, problem is, in this cold country, the water will be getting cold, i dont think that would be good for them, Maybe the YMCA, would let me in for rehab on them

Re: Front Shoulder Rehab?
One of my dogs dropped on a large boulder while baying up a bobber. She was laid up for quite a while and when I tried to run her she would stiffen up early in the race. What wound up working for me was to let her rest until she wasn't stove up and then I slowly started exercising her alone, on her own routine apart from my other dogs. Most of the routine was long walks or very slow trotts working their way to longer and longer trotts and runs. It took quite a while, but she got back her strength and now only after a long hard race will she be a little limpy.
For about the first month of her rehab I would give her a low dose aspirin to help reduce any inflammation.
Good luck.
