Austin Meier and the PBR

Post by southwestwalkers »

Don't know how many of ya follow bull riding but good to see an American make up the ground on the Brazilian :beer

If I was 20 yrs younger and not as smart  I would be on one of them bulls..

Austin is as tough as they get and has the right mantality to get the job done. You can bet your bottom dollar that he'll be a serious threat for the World Title. He's also an avid hunter and a good person.

Like to see J.B. go on a run.... tons of talent but I think it more of what's between the ears with him.

Ya don't ever count JB out either. Your exactly right about whats between the ears. Guys like him and Austin, Ranato take the game to a whole new level. Another one is Cody Nance (no relation to Lester Nance). I love to watch anyone that dosen't quite till their head hits the ground.

Just to let you know Cody Cambell and Brian Canter are also fellow houndsmen. Cody grew up hunting bear, lion and bobcat in the northwest while Canter is a coon hunter from the east.

Folks don't realize how big the mental game is in that sport. You can have all the talent in the world but if ya don't have it together upstairs you won't make it to be one of the best.

Saying that..... some of these guys are young and I remember myself at that age. I was doing a lot of partying an chasing and it wasn't lions and bears. It's hard to stay grounded when ya get your name in lights and on TV.

These guys from Brazil have it dialed in. They seem to train a lot more (gym) than the guys from the states and they don't seem like they have the distractions our riders do.

Most of the Brazilians grew up poor. When I say poor I mean real poor. The American boys have no Idea what poor is. The Brazialians are trying to make a better life for themselves. I think thats why as a whole they do very very well. JMO

Yeah Cody lives thirty mins away from me. But he hasn't done much hounds wise here that I know of. But he sure likes to hunt.

Well what about one of my favoites? J B Mouney just kicked some ass and moved into third place standings this weekend! That's up four spots.

Driftwood you should have. I love to visit with a houndsmen while on the road. It keeps me somewhat sane. Otherwise I think that blacktop and concrete would get to me. Come see me anytime, just pm me ahead of time so I can make sure we meet. That goes for everyone. i love meeting people with the same interests. Take care and see you in Ontario. We're headed to the NCIS set tomorrow, I guess the whole cast are all fans of the PBR. I'll let you know how it goes.

What is it with your Paw-In-Law? Everytime I talk to him lately, he has Tanner in the roping pen and it is 110 degrees. I am beginning to wonder about the boy but then Sara Kay has been wondering about him for some time.
Adios,
Gary
