Well, was out exercising my pound puppy the other day on some logging roads when we came to a fork in the road. She was up ahead of me about 30yds and it looked like she hit a brick wall and immediately dove into the ditch by a culvert! She was pretty wound up, checking the culvert, running around with her nose to the ground, and even checked the other side of the road. I let her work the area as long as she wanted, trying to keep her fired up. She never made anything out of it but it was refreshing to see, as A, I'm pretty sure it was a bobcat (too dry for coon/beaver and no p'pines); and B, when she's trashing on deer/elk scent, she'll run up and down the roadside ditches till she takes off into the woods.
So, things are looking up.
Maybe next time
