? for the bear hunters
We caught a bear this past week and arrived at the tree and 2 of my dogs were treed 350 yards to the west away from the 1st bear tree. For a 1.5 hours they treed and then came to me at the big bear tree. I never made it to the tree cause it was a big bear in the first tree. We was in the middle of a huge rock slide with some good bear trees around but I'm just wondering what was in that tree. One of the dogs was my best bobcat dog and the other was a hog dog that will tree hell out of a coon and will give a hog a axx chewing. What do you think was in the tree, beside a big boar tree. Driving me crazy, thanks for any feedback
Re: ? for the bear hunters
that same bear might have bumped (started to climb) that tree and they just got hung up on it.
Re: ? for the bear hunters
Maybe another bear. It is breeding season.

One of those things you will never know. Last year we started a bear on a burned out hillside. Trailed down into some manzanita. Three dogs suddenly split while the rest kept going. Both ended up in treed bears. Looks like while trailing they came acrossed another bear that split the pack.
