Mules and porcupines

Postby papa » Sun Sep 05, 2010 2:06 am

First time I ever had this one happen...got up thurs. morn. and both my mules had a nose full of quills...have dogs that got stuck but never a horse or mule...had to sedate one of them before he would let us pull em out. Hopefully they learned their lesson.
when in doubt turn em out

Both of them.. thats something.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Next time that happens to horse/mule or dog, take vinegar and pour it on the area that is full of quils. It opens the skin pours and you can pull the quils out with your fingures and there is no fight.
